Join the European Day of Sustainable Communities #EDSC2022

#EDSC2022, our annual celebration of sustainable communities in Europe, will take place on Saturday 17 September and we invite events taking place throughout the month of September.

We invite you to organise and register an event, big or small, in person or online, to showcase action for climate and sustainability at the local community level, with a particular focus this year on youth.

We are teaming up with the makers of the award-winning documentary Once You Know for the European Day of Sustainable Communities. 

Once You Know follows Emmanuel Cappellin, a young Franco-American environmentalist exploring a world on the edge of a climate-induced collapse, featuring encounters with renown experts and grassroots activists courageously searching for an exit.

Interested in becoming an EU Climate Pact Ambassador?

The European Climate Pact is now recruiting Climate Pact Ambassadors to complement the current cohort of almost 1,000. The role of a Pact Ambassador is to inform, inspire and support climate policy and action in local communities and networks.

Applications are open for individuals who are leaders in: local communities, networks, civil society organisations, youth and student initiatives, as well as mayors and other public office holders, from across Europe (see the criteria).

What if monitoring and evaluation (M&E) could truly serve our transformational goals? In this Communities for Future session on 14 July we will explore how M&E can be ‘unboxed’ from its confines of traditional linear and mechanistic approaches that often serve funders more than impact, and how we can do M&E in ways that help us learn, be more strategic, and strengthen our transformative impact.
