Line in the Sand
September 24, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm BST
To take part in Line in the Sand Kirkcaldy, arrive at Seafield Beach picnic area between 11:45am -12 noon on 24th September (on foot or bike if possible). Please carry a placard with a climate message should you wish.
We will hear a call to action before heading to the beach to form our symbolic line. The event will finish with a challenge to take on one of the Big Five for Fife pledges.
Line in the Sand is a Fife-wide, participatory demonstration of the urgent need for action on the climate emergency and a powerful piece of climate art in the run up to the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow. The date has been chosen to coincide with the Global Climate Strike organised by Fridays for the Future, and will also take place during Climate Fringe Week.
Attendees will literally form a line in the sand, running the length of Seafield Beach, to show their support for urgent climate action. The event invites the Kirkcaldy community to participate in a simple non-political action that will send a message to local, national and international Governments and create a legacy of empowerment and action.
