Our Changing Natural World

September 20, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm BST

Join us for an online evening talk to hear about how climate change is affecting our natural environment. During the evening you will hear from three guest speakers sharing their knowledge and experiences, putting a global problem into a local context. There will be three short talks and a Q&A at the end. During the event you will hear from:

Ian Baird, Woodland Trust:
We are on the edge of a new era of interdependency with trees and woods. The role of trees in fighting climate change is now well understood. The challenge is to find the space that trees need to expand and thrive across our nation.

Alison Baker, Forth Rivers Trust:
Cool rivers! Why temperature matters to river species, what we know about the current temperatures of the Teith and Forth and what can we do to keep them cool.

Ellie Lawson, Nature Scot:
Flanders Moss is one of the largest lowland raised bogs in the UK. For over 30 years NatureScot has been restoring the damaged peatland and bringing back good bog habitat by using a whole range of different techniques. Through this successful work carbon is being locked up, flood risk reduced while new areas created for rare species.

Talk will be hosted on Zoom and spaces must be booked in advance. To book your free space please visit the Callander’s Landscape website.
