Southside Allotment Bike Tour
September 18 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm BST
Curious about allotments? Ever wondered what happens on them and how to get one? Join us for this guided bike ride to three allotments in Glasgow’s Southside to find out more. With COP26 just around the corner, we will be visiting three allotments that are great examples of community and climate action, exploring how urban growing can be beneficial for both people and the environment. We will visit Queens Park Allotment and look at the use of recycled materials at their plots, South Western Allotment who are a great example of community engagement and diversity and New Victoria Gardens whose plot holders show that supporting biodiversity can be an exciting part of gardening.
We will meet at Bike for Good’s South Hub at 10.30am. Anyone who would like to, can loan out a bike and helmet or get quick repairs done on their bikes. We will set off on our tour at 11am and end at New Victoria Gardens just after 1pm for a free lunch before returning any borrowed bikes and helmets at the Bike for Good South Hub around 2pm.
