Facilitation and Training

The role of a facilitator for community engagement is to get others to take responsibility and to take the lead on different tasks in the collaborative effort.

These guides are excellent resources for facilitation and training.

Group works guide for facilitators

The Group Works Guide for Facilitators captures the qualities that support successful meetings – productive, fulfilling, inspiring and sometimes even magical. It consists of a deck of 100 full-colour cards (91 patterns and nine category cards) created by the Group Pattern Language Project, a multi-year process involving around 50 facilitators of group processes.

SDG Multipliers Handbook

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Multipliers Handbook supports people wishing to offer trainings on understanding and implementing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in their own community, organisation or workplace. It provides a trainer’s handbook, accompanied by SDG Implementation flashcards. It was developed by Gaia Education.

Interpole collaboration toolkit

Interpole collaboration toolkit is a French-language collection of resources for effective cooperation and collaboration, in-person or at a distance, developed by a group of trainers and facilitators.

A Feminist Monitoring & Advocacy Toolkit for Our Feminist Future.

A collective of feminists advocating for a feminist response to COVID is excited to share a new toolkit titled, “Another World is Possible: A Feminist Monitoring & Advocacy Toolkit for Our Feminist Future.” This toolkit and the accompanying online features are the collective’s joint effort to translate its Feminist Response to COVID-19 Principles into guidance and evidence-based recommendations for advocacy and policymaking. They hope this toolkit serves as a useful resource as we continue our work towards a world free from violence, where human rights and gender equality are fulfilled, and where the health and well-being of all peoples’ and the planet are ensured.

The downloadable PDF version of the toolkit is currently available in English, Spanish and French. The downloadable toolkit is also complemented by two other online pieces – a live Power Mapping and a live Advocacy Timeline. Explore them here
