Quick report from ECOLISE’s “Advocacy Campaigning Training” event in Belgium

Words from ECOLISE co-director Juan Del Río after last months physical meeting and workshop in the Koningsteen Center in Belgium, with The Good Lobby, Porticus, friends from our member networks and some from beyond. All coming to learn how to organise ourselves better, to advocate and lobby for the future we desire, based around the #10Theses we are co-creating.

How can community-led movements working on ecosocial just transition influence the European Green deal and use that opportunity to scale-up transformative social innovations?

These and other key questions where explored in the advocacy in-person training that I co-organised as part of the ECOLISE team this week in Belgium. A 2’5 days international event with 35 participants from more than 10 countries. Representing Ecovillages, Transition, Permaculture, Social and Solidarity Economy, Policy and Research institutions, Philanthropy, and much more. The training focused on:
  • Understanding and integrating advocacy basics
  • Campaigning skills and resources
  • Embed the participants in a network of peers
We explored the 10 thesis, the main ECOLISE policy campaign and worked on its next steps. If you are curious look at it here 😉
You can follow the ECOLISE work on the Communities for Future website: https://communitiesforfuture.org/

The experience has been super rich. A lot of learnings, good connections, diverse type of spaces, care and celebration, a very beautiful place, and energy to move forward together.

Thanks so much to everyone that made it possible!
